Beatriz Neila Hungry for More after 20 Consecutive Podium Milestone for Ampito Crescent Yamaha at Balaton Park

Two incredibly strong second-place podiums keep Beatriz Neila’s 2026 FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship title hopes in sight after the mid-way point at the Hungarian Round last weekend.

The results take Neila to 20 consecutive podium finishes, the most of any rider in the series.

Sunday’s Race 2 was another epic fight for the history books in the first road racing World Championship exclusively for women, as Neila fought tooth and nail until the very end. Trading positions for the lead with rival Maria Herrera, and a final-lap all-out showdown with race winner Paola Ramos kept fans on the edge of their seats once again.

Neila’s Race 2 performance was a step above Race 1, the #36 had battled with Herrera alone in the shortened nine-lap race but ultimately could not keep her compatriot from the win and crossed the line second – fuelling determination and grit to beat her on Sunday, as Herrera took third behind Neila in Race 2.

After the three of six rounds, Neila and Ampito Crescent Yamaha are 14 points from the championship lead, as WorldWCR takes a short break until next month in Misano from 12-14 June.

Beatriz Neila, Ampito Crescent Yamaha – Superpole: P5 / Race 1: P2 / Race 2: P2

“I pushed until the end, doing my best to close the door to my rivals. I know I ran a good race on Sunday but ultimately, I lost the victory, so I need to keep working and training hard to try and win again. That said, I started the weekend with a lot of problems but was able to place P2 in both races. The championship is still open, but every point counts of course so I’m going to keep fighting. I want to dedicate Sunday’s podium to my mum, as it’s Mother’s Day in Spain. I didn’t know I’d achieved so many consecutive podiums; it’s an honour to be here and achieve these results. Thanks to my Ampito Crescent Yamaha team and every sponsor who supports us, and in Misano we go again.”
