Returning for the second season of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship, Beatriz Neila flew to the top of the time sheets in the first day of testing at Cremona Circuit in Italy, on the new-look Ampito Crescent Yamaha R7.

Neila’s fastest lap time of 1:40.545 was two-tenths quicker than her nearest rival, 2024 championship runner-up Maria Herrera, and more than three-tenths quicker than the WorldWCR lap record set last year.

Continuing with her favoured #36, Neila’s team is supported by international IT and technology Title Partner Ampito Group, alongside Crescent Yamaha – the team behind Yamaha’s Official WorldSBK entry with Jonathan Rea and Andrea Locatelli. The 22-year-old’s contagious positivity and fierce riding makes her a fan favourite as well as a friendly face amongst her peers in the first motorcycling World Championship exclusively for women.

In 2025, Neila’s goal is to fight for the title – and to continue to represent Ampito and Crescent Yamaha as a pioneer, role model and innovator, celebrating women competing at the top level of their sport.

WorldWCR pre-season testing also continues tomorrow, with over two hours of available track time split across a morning Warm Up and six Free Practice sessions, ahead of the opening round of the series at TT Circuit Assen next week from 11-13 April in the Netherlands.

Beatriz Neila – 1:40.545 (P1)

“I’m super happy to be racing again in WorldWCR with Ampito and Crescent Yamaha – it’s our first day of testing here in Cremona, we worked a lot this morning and I was able to set good lap times and also the fastest time of today. I feel really good on my R7, we know the season is long with a lot of races, but it is a good way to begin and I am super happy. My goal is to fight for the championship title this year, so we will keep working hard until the end! We have one more day of testing tomorrow before the first race next week in Assen, I can’t wait.”

Paul Denning – Team Principal, Ampito Crescent Yamaha:

“It was great to get the second year of WorldWCR underway with sunny skies and warm weather in Cremona today – and the new, expanded, Ampito Crescent Yamaha livery on Beatriz’ Yamaha R7 looked fantastic! The championship seems to have taken a step forward, with many of the women riding a lot faster than last year and the gap between fastest and tenth place for example a lot closer. Beatriz was comfortable on her bike all day, working with her new crew chief Alan Cook and technician Andy – who are going to bring additional support and performance to her riding this year. She backed up her ambition by rounding off the day fastest overall and smashing the lap record, which is a great start to the season and helps build confidence as we approach the first round of the year in Assen next weekend.”
